The Minnkota Festival and Auction is a
fundraiser to help people in need at home and around the globe.
You can help. You can make a difference and have some fun at the
same time! Here's how:
1. Come to the auction and buy something.
2. Donate money. It's tax deductible!
3. Donate auction items. The 2011 Festival will have the
following auctions:
- Antique Auction - We are looking for items such as
cream cans, copper boilers, egg baskets, cookie jars, clocks,
depression glass, farm toys, and filling station signs.
Helping those in need can be as easy as giving an item or two
that might be gathering dust on your shelves, in your attic,
or stored away in your barn. Items as small as a pocket watch
or as big as an antique table or hutch are welcome at our
debut auction. Give us a vivid description and/or a picture
with your donation by June 1 to attract the most buyers.
- Artisan's Auction - The history of this auction has its
roots in the handmade quilts, rugs, and woodworking items that
have been so popular over the years. Today this is just the
basis of the auction and not the entire event. Many things are
auctioned off in the main event such as art of all kinds,
collectable items such as toy farm equipment, outdoor
equipment and supplies, tickets to area events especially high
priced or hard to get tickets, and electronics. The 2011 theme
is "A Table for Sharing" so we are looking for as
many table sets as possible to highlight this theme.
- Just For Fun Auction is part of the Children's Festival but
has been expanded with items that are fun for people of all
ages from infants to centurions. The sky is the limit with
things that are auctioned just for fun! Previous sales have
had new children's toys, both commercial and handmade, craft
kits, handmade things for the kid's bedrooms such as pillows,
pillowcases, and wall hangings, sportswear and memorabilia of
college or pro teams, sporting and event tickets, tickets to
area attractions, books, or mini vacation packages such as a
one or two night stay at a resort or hotel.
- Silent Auction - This auction features theme baskets such as
a pamper yourself basket, cookie making basket, reading theme
basket, toy or craft basket. Anything goes!

Every donation is important! All donations are accepted and

All food items donated need to have this
food
label attached. Please print this label, fill it out,
and attach it to the food item.
5. Donate your time. All workers are volunteers.
Many
hands make light work and we need YOU!
- For the Minnkota Festival - If you have 2-4 hours to help
set up, run or clean up on Friday, July 22 and /or Saturday,
July 23, please contact the MinnKota Board at info@minnkotasale.org.
- For the Children's Festival - For four hours children
attending the MinnKota Festival can have fun while raising
funds for those less fortunate. To make the festival a success
we need many people to man activity booths. For more ideas and
info regarding the children's festival see our children's
carnival idea handout. Even if you only have a couple of
hours to help please contact Sandy Robertson, chair of the
Children's Festival at minnkota.sandy@gmail.com.
