Election: There are three board positions open. Charlotte is not eligible for another term. Juli Leaman, from Mt. Lake, has agreed to replace Charlotte. Melvin Koehn is eligible for a 2nd term and he has agreed to serve again. Marilyn Penner’s term has expired an we need to find someone from Sioux Falls to fill this position. Motioned and seconded to cast a unanimous ballot for Juli and Melvin. Passed.

Pete and Lynette Preheim have agreed to be appointed for a second term. The executive board gratefully appointed them to another term.

Listening meetings: Church representatives would be responsible to set up a meeting in their respective churches to get feedback from our constituency about the sale. A board member would attend to give information and answer questions.

Church reps: Please start encouraging people to begin making items for the sale. Winter is a good time to work on hand-crafted items.

Marketing committee: Steve Hopkins explained that he is helping to form a short-term marketing committee to research how to increase awareness of and attendance at our sale. Please e-mail Steve at sshop@svtv.com and give him any “wild ideas” or suggestions you have for this committee.

New sale items: Steve asked that if anyone knows a business that we could contact to donate money or products to sell at the sale. If you aren’t able to contact the business personally please contact Steve with the company name and ,if possible, a contact person and he will talk with them (sshop@svtv.com).

MCC minute: Elizabeth Janssen express thanks to everyone who works so hard at the sale to raise money for MCC. Please pick up a MCC calendar for yourself or to share.

 Input from the 2008 sale:
It didn’t seem like the babysitting booth was missed.
  Kids liked the game/puzzle area.
Some sales have a pre-sale fundraising meal. Is this something we can do?
Everyone should bring one new person to the sale each year. It shouldn’t be just up to the executive committee. Maybe we could have a campaign like “Who are you going to invite to the Minn-Kota Sale this year?”
Craft Boutique name change--Monica Hofer and Diane Witt would like to rename the craft area Artisan’s Market.
If you know of anyone who makes quilts or woodworking items pleas ask them if they would be willing to donate something to the sale.

Computers: Anita Neufeld said some things were good and others need work. She liked the database the computers provided. Steve Hopkins said he definitely think the computers are helpful. Once people’s names and addresses are entered into the system they don’t have to register again. We also get e-mail addresses to contact people.

Graphic artist: We are working with a graphic artist to develop a new look for our advertising.

 Recording secretary, Loretta Krahn
